# How to Talk to Wren

Chatting with Wren is super easy and natural! You don't need to memorize a bunch of weird commands or symbols. Just talk to it like you would talk to a friend.

## In Discord Text Channels

To get Wren's attention in a text channel, you just need to mention it or reply to one of its messages.

1. Type `@Wren` and then your question or message.
2. Hit enter! Wren will read your message, think about it, and reply directly in the channel.

{% hint style="info" %}
Wren can read the history of the channel to understand what you are talking about. You can say "Can you explain that more?" and Wren will know what "that" is!
{% endhint %}

## In Discord Voice Channels

You can also speak to Wren out loud in a voice channel!

1. Use `/wren voice join` to invite Wren.
2. Say **"Hey Wren"** and wait for the ascending charm sound.
3. Ask your question and listen for Wren's spoken reply.

Check out the [Voice Chat](/features/voice-chat.md) guide for full details on how to use voice commands.

## What kinds of things can I say?

You can ask Wren to do almost anything:

* "What are the rules of this server?"
* "Search the web for the latest Roblox news."
* "Remember that my favorite game is Jailbreak."
* "Can you help me write a story about a brave knight?"

Wren uses advanced AI to understand exactly what you mean. Have fun and be creative!

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wren.atriasafety.org/guides-and-faq/how-to-talk-to-wren.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
